Should I use car rental or public transportation?
When choosing a mean of transport we think about many variables:
- Does the place we are traveling to have a good public transportation system?
Portugal has public transportation although on Madeira Island the buses mostly concentrate in the city and there is no subway or train. - Is it cheap?
Portugal has a minimum wage of almost 800. And the price of the Madeirian bus onboard ticket is 1,95 euro. And one Day-Ticket is 4,50 euro. - Do they have manageable timetables for what we want?
If you plan to get overnight rides that are not available in public transportation. The schedules are manageable in the city but there are fewer buses to the other districts that are not Funchal. - Is it safe?
According to the respected index of national safety, Portugal ranks Number 3 in the world behind only Iceland and New Zealand. But when you consider that the two nations ahead of Portugal are actually islands, Portugal remains the Number One safest country among nations with borders. - Are there touristic places that are unreachable by public transportation?
Especially on Madeira Island most of the tourist places are far away from the city. Such as Pico do Areeiro or Porto Moniz so by bus you’ll take more hours and the are fewer buses. - What type of commodities and comfort do we have?
We have a variety of vehicles from automatic to manual and also hybrids. We assure total safety in our cars, providing free kids’ car seats if needed. - What are the conditions to rent?
The conditions to rent are that you have a valid ID/Passport and Driver’s License.
