No Tourist Tax in Funchal, Madeira

Great news! There is NO tourist tax for car rental customers in Funchal, Madeira. Unlike other parts of Madeira, Funchal and Câmara de Lobos municipalities do not impose a tourist tax on car rental customers and hotel/accommodation guests.

Please be mindful, according to The Portugal News as of April 10, 2023: “In Madeira, the tourist tax also applies in the municipality of Santa Cruz. The fee is valued at two euros per night for a maximum of seven nights. Guests aged 13 and over are covered.”
